Cosmetic Skincare Services

At WMGI we believe that a woman's physical and emotional health are closely intertwined. In fact, the more comfortable and confident she is with the way she looks; the more likely she is to exhibit a positive, life-affirming attitude – which is itself an essential ingredient to achieving and enjoying optimal health.

As we get older, however, we face a variety of skincare challenges. For example, the aging process often causes the formation of lines in the face – the so-called marionette lines – which give the impression of a permanent frown. This can unintentionally radiate a feeling to others that you are angry or upset, when that is not at all the case. This scowling effect is heightened, if deep frown lines settle into the forehead between the eyebrows.

Sometimes brown spots, acne "pitting," or excessive redness on the face can be distracting and prevent others from appreciating you for who you really are. Other times, they make the person with those features excessively self-conscious and withdrawn. Some women are embarrassed to extend a hand in a handshake because their skin is so mottled in appearance. Oftentimes acne and rosacea sufferers develop severe depression because of the "unsightly" appearance of their skin.

At WMGI we do not believe that these are trivial issues, and we treat such problems with the same commitment and seriousness we apply to other areas of women's healthcare. This means, above all else, that we are results driven. While we certainly want your cosmetic experience at our office to be pleasant and enjoyable, we are focused intently on providing visible, long-term results.

What exactly does this mean? First, we always strive to achieve maximum results with the minimum amount of treatment and expense. If a skin peel or micro-dermabrasion will yield results similar to a more expensive laser procedure, then that is what we will recommend. Second, whatever procedure you decide upon will be performed so as to achieve the best, longest lasting results. Frequently, this entails preparing the skin in advance with prescription-grade skincare products. After the procedure is completed, we recommend a cosmetic regimen to maintain your new look for as long as possible.

All of this is done in an environment stressing safety, quality and the continual improvement of skills and expertise. Our laser operators are all fully trained, laser certified practitioners. Currently they include Dr. Gersh, Dr. Nguyen, Vicki Greenberg, RNP, and Karen Sandore, RN. All dermal fillers and Botox injections are administered by our board-certified Internist, Dr. Nguyen. We use the highest-quality skincare products and utilize the most advanced laser equipment available today.

How do you get started along the path to a younger looking, more attractive complexion? Most patients begin this journey with a free, complementary visit to our aesthetician, Kris Murray. Drawing on her many years of experience in the art of skincare, Kris evaluates your skin’s condition and makes detailed recommendations designed to keep it looking youthful, vibrant and refreshed. Together, you then decide upon a course of treatment that is both results oriented and affordable.

This program may involve the use of medical-grade skincare products, with Kris performing one of several different types of peels, facials, and/or micro-dermabrasion. Kris can knowledgeably advise you about our various cosmetic lasers ( Cutera LimeLight, Fraxel Laser, Lumenis LightSheer) and on the selection and characteristics of the dermal skin fillers we utilize (Restalyn, Juvederm Ultra and Ultra-Plus, and Radiesse), along with Botox Cosmetic. If you decide to proceed with any of these therapies, she will provide long-term care and maintenance of your beautified skin.

WMGI is not a "spa."

We strongly encourage all our patients to set aside time to rest, relax, and reinvigorate their lives. Time spent at a luxurious spa soaking, getting wraps, facials, massages, and perhaps even a mud bath is wonderful and rejuvenating.

But what happens at a spa is fundamentally different from what occurs at WMGI. As a medical facility we are able to apply and use prescription-strength skincare products and perform certain procedures that require a physician’s careful supervision. While we hope you find the procedures done at our office relaxing and enjoyable, we are really much more concerned about producing long-lasting, visible results.
