Dr. Nguyen received her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston in Texas, where she was awarded numerous academic honors. She later traded her hard hat for a white coat, when she entered the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her Internal Medicine residency program at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center. It was there that she developed an interest in skin care and started training in dermatology procedures.

Dr. Nguyen is board certified in Internal Medicine. Her expertise encompasses all aspects of Internal Medicine, with an emphasis on headaches, mood disorders and insomnia - conditions that affect many women in today's society but are often overlooked.

Skilled in many aspects of skin care, including skin cancer prevention and detection, Dr. Nguyen performs aesthetic procedures, and is expert in the use of Botox Cosmetic and the newest dermal fillers. She is a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

In her quest to provide alternative options for her patients, Dr. Nguyen also trained in medical acupuncture at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is one of the first physicians in the United States to receive board certification from the American Academy of  Medical Acupuncture. Proven to be beneficial for many conditions, such as musculoskeletal pain and migraine headache, acupuncture is often used in place of or in conjunction with Western medicine.

Following the mantra of "Practice what you preach," Dr. Nguyen is a firm believer in physical, mental and spiritual fitness. She holds a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and continues to train towards her third-degree. Dr. Nguyen resides in Irvine with her husband and two children. Besides English, she is fluent in Vietnamese and has some knowledge of French and Spanish.
